Officer Rich Turner

Officer Rich Turner is a lifetime Whatcom County resident with no desire to live anywhere else. Why leave perfect motorcycle-riding country?

Rich with Dude and his Harley Between rides, Rich has volunteered as a firefighter with Marietta Fire Department, as a Reserve Officer with the City of Blaine and Lummi Law and Order, and as a Big Brother. He has been with the Ferndale Police Department since 2001. In May of 2003, Rich was awarded the City's Medal of Merit for assisting Lummi Law and Order with an armed, barricaded subject with a hostage. The award cites Rich's "extreme professionalism and compassion in a dangerous and stressful situation."

Rich's hobbies include motorcycle riding, reading about motorcycles, watching shows about motorcycles, and riding with others on motorcycles. He owns a 2001 fuel injected Harley Fatboy which, he says, "is the reason I eat Top Ramen and Campbell's Soup a lot. I love riding in the mountains on summer days with the warm wind hitting my face. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family and friends."

And did we mention he likes motorcycles?
