Request a Copy of a Police Report

Traffic accident reports are only available to those directly involved; drivers, owners of vehicles/property, injured parties, their legal representatives, attorneys and insurers. You can pick up your copy of an accident report at the front counter at the police department during regular business hours, but please phone first (360-384-3390) to see if the report is ready for release.

Other police reports may or may not be releasable, depending upon a number of factors determined by State law. A written request is required and per RCW 42.17.320, we have up to five business days in which to respond to the request. A staff member must read the report to ensure that it is releasable, and that private or otherwise protected information is deleted prior to disclosure. There is a fifteen cent per page fee for this service. Feel free to call us at 360-384-3390 if you have any questions about the process.

Some or all of the information contained in the materials you are requesting may not be subject to disclosure as directed in the Revised Code of Washington and the Washington Administrative Code. The information obtained is not to be used to violate another person's right to privacy, nor can it be released to any other agency or individual for any purpose without the written approval of the chief of the Ferndale Police Department.

By submitting this form you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the above provisions.
