Kim Martin

I was fortunate to be hired by the police department Our Office Assistant Kim Martin on April 1st, 2002. Prior to that I worked for a major corporation for over 15 years. That is where I gained most of my customer service experience. My career in customer service began right here in Ferndale at a local bank that is now where our City Hall is located. Such a small world!

It is great to be able to work for the city that I have lived in the majority of my life. I graduated from Ferndale High School in 1978. I have been married to my husband for over 10 years. We have two adult children and are proud grandparents.

I will be one of the first people you come in contact with in our administrative office. When I am working with other companies I expect excellent customer service; in turn I believe each person I come in contact with should expect the same excellence from me.

Hobbies: crafts, scrapbooking (newest interest!); rock hounding; camping; spending time with family and friends.

Ferndale has been a great place to grow up in. If you have been around for a while you will remember McKay's Variety Store, which was every kid's favorite place to stop at after school. That was when there was such a thing as penny candy!

Ferndale used to have a swimming pool and a skating rink. Just those two activities kept me busy. It is nice to see our city beginning to reinvest in our kids, who are our future. The Tosco Sports Complex is a great step in that direction. Next step - music and arts venue!
