Lieutenant Matt Huffman Graduates from FBI National Academy

Lieutenant Matt Huffman graduated from the 238th session of the FBI National Academy. The session commenced on July 13th, 2009 and concluded on September 18th, 2009.

The Academy class, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico Virginia, graduated 255 law enforcement officers. The 238th session consisted of men and women from 48 states, the District of Columbia, three military organizations and 21 international countries.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy Program offers ten weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19 years law enforcement experience and usually return to their respective agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Training for the program is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

Since 1972, National Academy students have earned undergraduate and graduate credits from the University of Virginia due to the accreditation by the University and the many courses offered. Lieutenant Huffman earned 18 credit hours, to include graduate hours, during his course of study.

Lieutenant Huffman was awarded his certificate of achievement by the FBI Director, Robert Mueller II, on September 18th, 2009. Upon completion Lieutenant Huffman joined the fraternity of 42,963 law enforcement officers that have graduated from the National Academy since its inception in 1935. Of the 42,964 graduates, 25,452 are still active in law enforcement.
