Happy Halloween

The Ferndale Police Department will be handing out treats as well as providing additional staffing for safety sake again this Halloween.

Designed to decrease Halloween related crimes against people and property, the Halloween program has become an event enjoyed by officers, children, and their parents.

The Ferndale Police Department greatly appreciates the community support and donations of Halloween candy by:

  • Cost Cutter
  • Haggen Food and Pharmacy
  • Rite-Aid
  • Walgreens

Motorists are reminded that residential streets have a speed limit of 25 MPH, but extra caution should be shown on Halloween.

Parents are reminded that costumes should not block children’s vision, and should be made of light color or light-reflecting material. Small children should also carry a flashlight and be accompanied by an adult. Trick or treaters should use sidewalks and crosswalks wherever they are available.   Click here for a more extensive list of Halloween safety tips.

Feel free to stop and talk to the officers that you see in the neighborhoods, and bring any safety concerns to their attention.

Please join us in making this a safe and festive Halloween!
