Community Involvement

For the past nine years, in an effort to decrease Halloween related crimes and increase safety, our department, with the help of local merchants, has conducted the Halloween Safety Patrol.  Throughout the city, officers hand out candy to trick-or-treaters while maintaining high visibility in the neighborhoods. The generous donations of Ferndale's Haggen Food & Pharmacy, Cost Cutter, Rite Aid and Walgreens make this enjoyable community event possible.

2009 is our tenth Halloween celebration! Below we have photos of store personnel loading our patrol car with their gifts for Ferndale's kids.
